custom Building Projections
Projecting on a building, 3D object, or architectural feature doesn't have to be difficult or costly. Lumo Interactive uses low-cost techniques and equipment to accomplish amazing animated effects on a budget. We specialize in digital display solutions for art exhibitions, holiday events, and performances.
Our architectural outdoor and indoor projections are customized to videomap 3D elements and bring them to life with light and shadow.
Combine any of our interactive display or social media services with building projection to create an installation that people will be talking about and sharing long after your installation.
If you're looking for something even bigger, we partner with leading agencies worldwide to bring large scale commercial building projection installations to life.
This video mapped building projection was part of an installation for Nuit Blanche in Winnipeg, Canada. A special truss with heating was erected to keep the projector working in the cold conditions.
The building was projection-mapped and all the elements were sound reactive, and changed in time to a live DJ performance.
The entire architectural projection effect library was created on a budget for the arts festival, using one projector and a team of two animators.
A large, interactive Christmas countdown clock was projected outside Kildonan Place mall in the weeks leading up to Christmas, showing drivers passing by how many shopping days were left.
Facebook messages left on the mall's social media page were displayed on the installation, carried by animated nutcrackers.
In addition to the outdoor building projection, interactive displays inside the mall mirrored the messages and countdown.
This installation won the 2011 Signature award for Outdoor advertising.
Indoor 3D projection mapping for a live performance. The architectural elements above the stage were mapped, and animations created by a team of 3 animators which were choreographed for each song in the performance.
Elements like frescos in the stage arch were included in the animation, coming to life as part of the show.
This building projection installation was completed using one 12K projector, After Effects, Photoshop, and 1 day of on-site preparation. The entire production time length was 1 week.
We used 3DS, Flash, and After Effects to create Santa's Workshop using projection mapping on the outside of a building during the annual Santa Clause parade. This building projection took 2 days to build and was installed using a single projector and a heated scissor lift.
Animated silhouettes of elves making toys brought the building to life, while toys and gifts were assembled along a conveyor belt and delivered into Santa's workshop.
This building projection took place in extremely cold weather, which required special heating equipment. It was choreographed to build up to the fireworks launch, with the elves looking out the window to watch the fireworks when they began.
